Biography
Tarek Haddad is a Lebanese photography graduate from Notre Dame University-Louaize. His work questions both the intimate and collective relationship between humans and their surroundings, from personal possessions to the natural realm.
His recent projects focus on mankind's current interaction and dis/connection from/with the environment. In 2017, he held his first solo exhibition titled "Vesica Piscis" at Galerie Janine Rubeiz, through which he pondered humans' quest for separation from nature. He dived deeper into the interaction and the facets of this relationship in his latest exhibition titled "The Sixth Day", which he developed during his recent art residency with "SMArt Programme" in Switzerland.
Tarek has previously been selected as a grantee for the 4th cycle of the Arab Fund for Arts & Culture (AFAC)’s Arab Documentary Photography Program(ADPP) in 2017, and was chosen to participate in a workshop followed by a group exhibition with an international multidisciplinary artist for the Beirut Art Fair in 2016.
